Our aims

We aim to develop our members' skills in the three crafts through the exchange of ideas and knowledge and by sharing practical expertise. This happens at our monthly meetings, at specialist groups, and at other informal meetings held in members' homes. We invite interesting speakers and workshop leaders, and also have in-house demonstrations and workshops, and share our experiences in Show and Tell sessions. We also organise an annual trip to places which would interest weavers, spinners and dyers. From time to time we have courses on areas of specialist interest, or courses for those just beginning to learn their craft, or wanting to improve.

We are affiliated to the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners, and Dyers. The Association organises summers schools, study days, conferences and exhibitions, as well as Certificates of Achievement, and our members can participate in these. The Association's quarterly magazine The Journal has many interesting articles on the three crafts as well as book reviews an information about exhibitions.
